Trailspace publishes reviews, news, and information on outdoor gear, skills, and activities, with a focus on backcountry hiking, backpacking, climbing, and mountaineering.
Experienced outdoors writers interested in writing news stories, informative articles, or comparative gear reviews for Trailspace should send a query to editor@trailspace.com. Writers may not have any personal or professional affiliation with any gear manufacturers they’re covering or with those companies’ direct competitors.

Trailspace Gear Reviews
Trailspace publishes a limited number of comparative and advance reviews of specialty outdoor gear. Experienced outdoors people and writers interested in extensively field testing outdoor gear for Trailspace should send a query to editor@trailspace.com detailing their backcountry expertise and background, areas of personal interest, and any editorial experience. Testers may not have any personal or professional affiliation with the manufacturers of the gear they’re testing or with those companies’ direct competitors.
Gear Samples
Trailspace accepts only a very limited number of gear samples for product testing. Products are chosen for reviews based on newsworthiness, interest to our core audience of backcountry enthusiasts, and time constraints. Manufacturers interested in having new gear field tested for potential Trailspace articles must send an inquiry to editor@trailspace.com. Products should be core backcountry gear (such as stoves, packs, outerwear) that are new to the outdoor market (advance reviews are ideal), innovative, and of interest to our core audience. Please, do not send any unsolicited samples.
User Reviews
Trailspace publishes independent user reviews of outdoor gear and clothing, giving individuals the opportunity to share their personal gear experiences with the community. To help a wide range of outdoor enthusiasts choose the most appropriate gear for them, we post all gear reviews we receive that are relevant, fit within our gear categories, and are of interest to our core audience of hikers, backpackers, climbers, and mountaineers.
Anyone may submit a relevant gear review, but users posting reviews should divulge within the review any personal or professional affiliations with the manufacturer of the gear they’re reviewing or the manufacturer’s competitors. Trailspace retains the right to edit or remove any review based on language or inappropriate or irrelevant content.

The Trailspace Backcountry and Climbing community forums are open to anyone who wants to discuss hiking, backpacking, camping, mountaineering, or climbing. For those wondering what to do with that still-usable gear they just replaced or desperately looking for a discontinued product, the Classifieds section provides a spot for users to buy, sell, or swap used gear. Gear Instructions, Parts, and Repair is the spot for general discussion of outdoor gear repair and maintenance. Site suggestions or support should be directed to the Feedback forum. Trailspace retains the right to edit or remove any post based on language or inappropriate or irrelevant content.
