2007 1% For the Planet Recipients
As a member of 1% For the Planet, Trailspace donates at least 1 percent of its annual sales to environmental organizations. In 2007, Trailspace supported the following environmental organizations:
- The Access Fund, the only national advocacy organization that keeps climbing areas open and conserves the climbing environment
- American Hiking Society, the only national organization dedicated to promoting and protecting America’s hiking trails, the natural areas that surround them, and the hiking experience itself
- The Appalachian Trail Conservancy, dedicated to the conservation of the 2,175-mile Appalachian National Scenic Trail, a 250,000-acre greenway extending from Maine to Georgia
- The Belgrade Regional Conservation Alliance, our local land trust dedicated to conserving the lands, water quality, and natural heritage of Maine’s Belgrade Lakes region
- Clean Air-Cool Planet, the Northeast region’s leading organization dedicated to finding and promoting solutions to global warming
- Leave No Trace, an international nonprofit dedicated to promoting and inspiring responsible outdoor recreation through education, research, and partnerships
- The National Parks Conservation Association, which aims to protect and enhance America’s National Park System for present and future generations
- The Nature Conservancy, working around the world to preserve the plants, animals, and natural communities that represent the diversity of life on Earth
- The Trust for Public Land, a national organization that conserves land for people to enjoy as parks, community gardens, historic sites, rural lands, and other natural places
