Review Your Gear to Win Sierra Designs DriDown Bag

Review your outdoor gear now through Sunday, April 14, and you could win a DriDown Zissou 12 sleeping bag, thanks to Sierra Designs. Stuffed with 700-fill hydrophobic DriDown insulation, the Zissou promises to keep you drier ten times longer, loft higher, and dry faster in the presence of humidity, rain, or sweat ($270 value).

Have you shared your gear review yet?

To win the Sierra Designs Zissou 12:

  1. Write a review now through Sunday, April 14, of your outdoor gear, apparel, or footwear. Every review you share counts as an entry, and helps other outdoor enthusiasts.*
  2. On Monday, April 15, we'll randomly draw one very lucky gear reviewer.
  3. Review your gear now, and you could be sleeping warm and dry in a new DriDown bag on your next backcountry adventure!

Wondering, what's a Zissou? Consider that the Zissou's hydrophobic DriDown filling makes it more water resistant, just like its namesake from Wes Anderson's 2004 film The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou:

Review your gear to win your own Zissou.

*Important Bits: Must be a registered Trailspace member (not guest) to win (join as a member now). Each valid outdoor gear review counts as an entry. Incomplete reviews and reviews less than 75 words may be disqualified at our discretion. We will contact the winners via private message on Trailspace.com the day of the drawing. If winner doesn't reply within six days, we'll draw a new winner. See full Write-a-Review Giveaway rules.

The database of items to be reviewed limits our ability to review new products.  It seems that the reviews are more a service to manufacturers than they are a boon to the outdoors enthusiast.  If you can't select an item that's already "known" it can't be reviewed.  Boo!  Hiss!

While I know that's not entirely true (the reviews helped me pick a jacket), how would I go about reviewing a product like the Backcountry Navigator program for Android, which I have found to be a real winner in hiking unfamiliar terrain.

Is there a way around this?

You can review any backcountry gear on Trailspace, even if it's not already listed on the site. Members do this frequently, and we always appreciate hearing about a variety of outdoor brands and products, including vintage gear and small cottage manufacturers.

  1. Go to the Write a Review form.
  2. Enter the product you want to review (ex. Android).
  3. If the product isn't found, click on the "Click here to add your gear" link you get at the bottom of the search results:

Can't find what you're looking for?

Try a different spelling, or include just part of the name.

Still no luck? Click here to add your gear.

4. Include a product name and general gear category and click Continue.

5. Submit your review. It will go up on the site immediately.

Hope that helps.
