Suspect the answers will be all over the map. A couple years ago I was schlepping ~30 lbs. base weight. Now after some serious retooling I am starting out at just under 15 including the clothes on my back, empty bear cannister, and hiking staffs. Suspect even 15 lbs. base is considered heavy by some. But vs. 30 lbs. it is a world of difference in daily wear and tear. Steve
