Sitting up in a BA bag

I am looking for comments from those with BA bags regarding their overall comfort. I like the pad sleeve as I find myself half off the pad routinely. However, on cold nights, I will often sit-up in my bag for various activities in the tent. It would seem with the pad attached all the time, that motion may be limited. I have a BA dual core that is 2.5" thick.
