I'm in Peja Kosovo this weekend. in the country for a while for work. the town is adjacent to the Rrugova mountains, aka the Dinaric Alps, which lie between Kosovo and Albania. i gather the mountain range tops out at around 8200 feet.
this is the view from the balcony where i'm working from today. have been working my tail off since i arrived in Kosovo last weekend. seriously considering hiring a guide and taking a long day hike this weekend.

i appear to have found a guide for tomorrow & will apparently walk up one of the larger mountains. today, i hiked to the edge of town and up into the hills. this is the 'trailhead' with the mountains behind.
