big storm today.  schools, my office, and the federal government are closed today.  i'm thinking skinny skis on an untracked trail, right? well, it should actually snow later today.  i hope.

We are cut from hardy stock in the mid-atlantic.

<sigh>

Looks like the kind of twice a century snow they get here in Tucson. There was such a snow fall a few weeks ago and caused 4 major accidents on the freeway.

the storm dropped 16 inches of snow - about 75 miles west of here.  we received about an inch and a half of slush that didn't even accumulate on the roads.

Slushmageddon.

Not even Mother Nature can match the snow job and resulting mess that the federal government can create.

I got about that much snow here today too :rolleyes: here we work no matter how much snow there is. 36 inches could come down and we still go to work.

My dad was a electrical engineer after the War (WW-2) in which he served in Subs.

In the later 50's he had to go to DC from Mass where we were when i was a wee lad. dad got to the building in DC during a 6 inch snow, and the janitor answering the door stated 'Good God man don't you know there is a blizzard? W DC is closed......!!!!!!!

Somethings don't neva' change.

Caleb:

Fortunately it doesn't snow here in So Cal, else the refrain would be: Gotta get to the tanning salon, getta get my latte!
