Looking for info. on any good 3 to 5 day trails in the Trail, B.C. or Nelson, B.C. area for an August trip

My wife and I are planning to be in the area around Trail/Nelson, British Columbia in August and we're looking for any info. on local trails or trails that would be within a half day drive from this area. We're planning on 3 or 4 nights and would like to get up into the alpine for some good vistas. If anyone is familiar with this area and has some suggestions they would be greatly appreciated.
