I made a recommendation for custom hiking boots.

I need a recommendation from anyone that has had a good experience with custom made mid/heavy hiking boots. I have a medium width, very, very low-volume (no arch), foot and need a nice tall boot with excellent ankle support. If you guys can help me out, I'd appreciate it.

If you haven't already, you might look up a boot fitting workshop with Phil Oren. Perhaps proper fitting is the trick and significantly cheaper and faster than most custom boots.

Randy Merr3ll also builts custom boots "while you wait" if you have a week to spend. http://www.randymerrell.com/

Well, custom Limmers are incredible. But they are expensive and there is a 4 year wait.

Check out the web site www.viberg.com. Have had experience with them, they make excellent custom boots.
