Amazonian hiking

I'm been doing a lot of reading about the Peruvian and Brazilian Amazon and want very much to set up a hiking trip down there. Does anybody know of a reputable guide or tour group that has ties in either area? I am looking for somebody (or a group) that is experienced in the Amazon and has a good reputation that includes trustworthiness and honesty; it is also imperative that they can be counted on when things get precarious in the jungle. Any ideas? Please don't recommend the Alabama based RAT group (jungletraining.com) to me.

I am also planning a trip into Peru, one without a guide, however. I do know, however, that Huraz and Arequipa are centers for reputable guides in Peru - both cities have good reputations of having plenty of guiding services. Look into that somewhat...?
