Insulated vs Uninsulated Boots...Help
I need some help deciding on a pair of hunting/hiking boots. I plan on using them only during the winter, but in my area it doesn't get that cold (not to far below freezing, maybe 25 degrees F at the coldest). My question is would an uninsulated boot with gor-tex be okay or do I need an insulated boot?, and if so how many grams. Also if I have an insulated boot, how would it feel when I am indoors? These may seem like simple questions but I want to make a good purchase. Thank you.

cold feet? hot feet?
Some folks have cold feet... well you may have guessed it already. Everybody is different. If you go with uninsulated boots, be sure to bring an extra pair or two of wool socks. Goretex booties/oversocks (e.g. Rocky brand, size them with your socks on)is a good alternative for those cold and wet days. You are asking a lot of good questions about individual comfort. I'm afraid you will have to build your own learning curve. Be sure to size your boots with your usual layer of wool socks. If you don't like your boots, you can always resell them on the web. :-))
