1993 Gregory Denali Backpack
Just came by a no kidding like new 1993 Gregory Denali medium backpack and was just curious what anyone thought of it, and if it was a "worthy" pack to use today or if I should look at something newer. I can't seem to find a website with a forum that discusses any gear that old. Just getting out of the Marine Corps after 24 years and tired of using all that Mil stuff.

the Denali is still their "flagship" backpack - if a medium fits you correctly (it wouldn't fit me, at 6'2" tall, the price is right (reflecting 14 model years passing it by) and it's got the capacity you're looking for, I don't see how you can go wrong with a Gregory. It's high quality equipment -
Oh - and after 24 years in the Military - you don't want to hump an ALICE around anymore?

Re: 1993 Gregory Denali Backpack
There's nothing wrong with a 1993 era backpack made by a quality firm such as Gregory. I purposely use mostly vintage gear, something made in 1993 would be quite modern by my standards. Newer gear may be lighter, but won't perform any better. Outside of marketing hype, and lighter materials, there hasn't been much new in backpack technology in 30 years.
