UltraSil Bag Liner Vs. UltraSil Rain cover

Whoops! I posted in the wrong area!:

I am debating between Sea To Summit's UltraSil Bag Liner Vs. UltraSil Rain cover.
Both are ~30-40, so ignoring price, which makes the most sense to buy?

Re: UltraSil Bag Liner Vs. UltraSil Rain cover

Depends on whether you can use a VBL (the liner) properly, and whether you will be sleeping in a tent (the rain cover). Know that the half-liter of moisture you sweat off during the night will condense on the inside of either. So with the liner, it can condense on you (unless you learn how to vent it properly) and with the cover, it will condense into the insulation of your bag.

VBLs do require some experience and knowledge to use properly, and they are for very cold temperatures (like sub-zero F).
