Old Ice Axes, historical value

Grandma had these in the shed.  They're mine now.

They have some surface rust on them. They are MSR Ice Axes. One is 85cm, the other is 91cm (they liked em longer back then).  Each has a a sliding leash.

Look like old MSR Thunderbirds, from the 1970s (1975?) - if so, the name should be stamped into the pick. I think that was the first one they made (or maybe it was the 'Eagle'?). Not sure.

While these were a breakthrough from the old European axes, there have been some pretty important design changes since then. Interesting to see these old ones.
