Blacks Mountain Tent

Hi

I read the articles on Blacks Mountain Tent on Trailspace with interest. I had one made in 1973 to my own specs., stormproof material with an extended flysheet in ripstop nylon (lighter). Also my design would suit also warmer weather. The 'tunnels' at both ends had been redesigned into zip opening (stormproof material) and with a separate layer of mosquito net. Otherwise all dimensions and construction same as original design.

I used the tent only twice, total about 15 days in 1973, fantastic. Still in almost brand new condition, with all the fibre glass poles etc. Probably mine is the only one in such good condition now, anywhere in the world.

I paid almost £100 in 1973, as it is a specially manufactured item (both tent and flysheet, considered very expensive in those days.

If anyone interested, I would be prepared to sell it, guide price £500 or USD 950.
