This video is from New Zealand, the Franz Josef Glacier on Mt Cook. Hiking on this glacier is very popular among tourists. There are objective dangers, even in easy hikes and climbs. Everyone in the group was ok, just a bit dusty.

Yikes, this is one of the many reasons I don't jam out to my ipod on trail. I'm not trying to dig up an old thread but this is an example of why I much rather be tuned in to my surroundings. Of course this is completely dependent upon where one is. Glad to hear everyone is ok.
Wow.

New word usage opportunity: "choss" as a verb.
Context: "I think I just chossed my pants!"

Point of clarity:
According to Urban Dictionary, choss is rock climbing slang for loose rock, but also a verb synonymous with fart. Thus it is definitely a verb in this context, but probably a confusing application when used outside this forum thread to describe piles of bodily excretions.

I actually said that to my wife tonight and she kinda looked at me like I really needed to seek therapy.
Then again, she may be onto something.

Haha, I think maybe it would only work in certain spheres and contexts connected to to climbing :)
