Polartec Thermal Pro vs Windblocker

Looking at the MEC web site, I notice that they have fleece gloves made out of Polartec Thermal Pro, which is apparently some new fleece that has a snow/rain/wind resistent outer face and is more breathable than Windblocker fleece.

If this is the case, maybe Thermal Pro fleece would be preferabe to Windblocker fleece in jackets, etc. as well. Any reports on how well Thermal Pro works in the field?
