I have a pair of G-12's. Can I use these with rigid plastic boots for waterfall ice or do I need to get a rigid crampon instead - I do like the horizontal front points - what do you think of Grivel 2F's as a comprimise?

Love 'em
I've used the 2F's for many moons, both mountaineering and waterfall ice. Love them. They are light, simple and strong. Only complaint is snow balling up...I'm sure for waterfalls there are better performing crampons, I'm not that good on vertical ice yet- If only my wife would let me try her Charlet Moser M8's...

2F's are pretty good, but the cookie cutter style frames ball up on wet snow. Don't know if you can get anti-balling plates for them.
