Looks like Google is celebrating the first ascent of Everest, 55 years ago today. (The anniversary would have escaped my notice otherwise.)

This will probably be gone from their home page tomorrow. For future reference, the image shown on the Google home page is at http://www.google.com/logos/everest08.gif and it links to http://www.google.com/search?q=mount+everest+ascent&hl=en
