Santa Barbara Climbers

Hello ALL

I am a new climber that is about to obtain some gear. Can anyone recommend a group of people that like to go out backpacking and climbing while out? I need some fellowship here!

Two obvious groups in Santa Barbara - there is an outdoors club at UCSB, and the Southern California Climbing Association (I forget the exact name) has a number of members in the Ventura/Santa Barbara area. You might also look over on Supertopo.com (warning: the language in many of the posts on Supertopo is rather, shall we say, strong - not for "family" and not for the squeamish). There are a couple of climbing shops in SB and nearby in Ventura.
