Congratulations, Vince! Thanks for being such a great contributor and member of the Trailspace community.

Now I have to ask, where does your username, pillowthread, come from?

Thank you!...I'm just trying to reach the high standards set around here!

Regarding the origin of my name, I encourage guesses...

Congrats Vince!

Pillowthread guesses:

A.)  Maybe a reference to thread count such as is sometimes associated with Egyptian cotton; hence an allusion to quality?

B.)   Perhaps it is representative of a proclivity or bias towards internet forum discussion related to pillows and sleeping; a juxtaposition of succor?

C.)    Thread as in mechanical or screw thread, but where does the pillow come in to play on this one….hmmm.

D.)  Surely not pillow talk as in intimate discussion?

E.)   Or perhaps thread is synonymous with string and the string is taken from string theory so this really means you like to discus particle physics?

You must tell us!

How about a hint regarding the origin of your name?

Thanks again..."pillowthread" is a nonsense term I first used about a decade ago, as at the time I was looking to create a new email account...I remember people telling me that I had to think up a name that really fit my personality...that it was probably gonna be with me for a while, and to take my time with it...that it might take a while to chose a new moniker; that I might change my mind a few times before I settled...

Immediately, out of the unfathomable abyss that is my Buddha Nature, a shot rang out, "pillowthread" fell from my lips, and so it was. No pillows in sight, no prior pillow talk...I've since made "pillowthread" my online moniker for everything; I go by no other handle... I think it's kinda amazing, actually, that at every single junction where I join a new online community and it comes time to pick a name, "pillowthread" is always available...not one time have I ever had to choose something different.

It has since become my trail name, rules-be-damned...everyone that was there understands that I did not pick the name; "pillowthread" picked me. ("pillow" for short...)

Pillowthread...it was meant to be! I'm glad to know where it came from.

I was trying to come up with something about being the thread between people, conversations, and ideas, in a soft and gentle manner.

Congrats man!

I would have guessed that you got stuck in a bad situation after your plane went down in the Yukon. And by pulling off some mad fat McGyver skills, you made it out by unstiching your pillow and pulling off a self rescue with only the thread. Then again some duct tape, a paper clip, and a rubberband would have helped out as well. Just kidding man. Great Job.

Right on Vince! May I ask what type of sunglasses you are sporting in the top two photos?

@ shenora: I suppose I'd need all that if I didn't always keep a few packs of Sugru on me...

@ Cody: Those are the Altice Eclipse frames; I got 'em from the masters themselves, Opticus.com
