Re: 2007 Backpacking Stoves Preview

I talked with representatives from Brunton and they were unclear whether or not they were going to carry they optimus nova+ in 2007. Who is going to distribute the Optimus Nova+ in the US in 07. Emailed Optimus and they didn't communicate that they would make the January 07 deadline (and that they were even having problems keeping up manufacturing in Europe for now)

Will it really hit the US in 07 and who will distribute?

Optimus stoves will be distibuted in the U.S. by Katadyn starting in January. The stoves will be branded just as "Optimus" and Katadyn is planning to launch a pretty extensive Optimus ad/branding campaign at the same time.

Brunton will not be distributing any of the new Optimus stoves, although I suspect that existing "Brunton Optimus" stock may be available in their channels for a few months. For 2007 Brunton will have their own stove line, which will include some stoves very similar to the Optimus line. For example, the Brunton Raptor foldable stove is a clear derivative of the Optimus Crux.
