Equipment descriptions

How about a heading such as "Backpacking/Camping" 101 which would define and describe equipment, do's and don'ts etc. for newcomers to the sport?

That is an excellent suggestion and one which we're currenly working on. Look for gear guides, how-to's, tips on how to choose appropriate outdoor gear, and more informational content starting in the next couple weeks.
