No Camping Gaz is not obsolete. They are a subsidiary of Coleman. The puncture-type cartridges have been dropped, but Gaz still manufactures a wide range of stoves, lanterns, and other camping accessories. Many of these are for car camping, European style, and some are for picnics. But they do have full-on expedition gear which uses the C270 and C470 canisters. These have a push-on connector, similar in design to the industry-standard threaded connector, but without threads to screw the appliance on. This allows the canister to be removed from the appliance (stove or lantern) while there is still fuel left, something you can NOT do safely with the puncture type of canister (the 100, 106, 200, and 206 canisters). Also, this does away with the aging gasket problem that the 100 and 200 series stoves and lanterns have. There are many stores that stock the C206 and/or copies of the C206 canisters, as well as the C270 and C470 canisters - REI and EMS for 2 chains that do.
