I gave a friend of mine a tent that I replaced with a newer one.
He has stored it in his garage for the past six years- we live in the Orlando area. Gets real hot in there during the summers.
I recently borrowed it for a newbie to use on an upcoming backpacking trip.
I set it up and rain tested it with a hose - it leaked bad.
soaked the fly in water repellent restorer, and re-sealed all the seams.
rain tested it again - it leaked bad.
It seems as if all the coating on the inside of the fly is gone - the coating on the inside of the tent body has started to cloud up.
Any suggestions on re-waterproofing the fly...EASILY?
The newbie can get a tent from campmor for $60
Anyone have a fly for a Camp Trails White Lake tent?

I'm interested in this too. I just got back from what was to be a 3 day outing, testing a old Browning Wind River tent. The tent is in great shape, and looks just so super cool. But if it was once waterproof it isnt now. I had to bail aftr 10 hrs of rain. It was a good thing I had brought my air pad. Otherwise I would have had to bail in the wee hrs. I'm thinking of taking some Sylicone caulk and some thinner then paint it on the tent.
