Is Alpaca wool waterproof?

As the title says, Is Alpaca wool waterproof? I have heard that it lacks some chemical in sheep wool so it is not as waterproof as wool (not that sheeps wool is very waterproof in the first place) But would Alpaca be worse? or better?
