atmos 50, 65 vs z-55

I am new to non-military camping and backpacking so i am looking for some info on these two packs. I was in the army for 12 years so every thing I have used for quite a while has been issued. My torso in 18" I am 5'8" and currently a little heavy 193#s. I plan on mostly doing overnighters and 2 nights. If all goes well this year maybe longer trips later. Also my cousin swares by REI, if i get a bag there and use it then find out i realy don't like will they realy take it back? Adam adam_d_mednick@yahoo.com
