I don't have any experience with the Gregory Palisade to share, but, if possible, I highly recommend you try on the Palisade, along with comparable packs, at an outdoor shop to ensure that it fits you and your torso.

Unfortunately, Gregory's product info page doesn't show the fit/torso info for the Palisade: http://www.gregorypacks.com/prod.php?ID=97

So I don't know how small their small actually is. Packs designed for short torsos or a women's fit tend to fit women and smaller frames better, but you'll only know what fits you properly by trying ones on.
