Re: 3 season tent

Generally, the single-wall tents have more condensation issues than double-wall ones. This is minimalized, however, by being careful with the orientation of the tent to the wind, and making sure all vents are open to promote air flow.
As for the waterproofing, I think you WILL have a few issues if you use the tent in high winds with heavy rain, or even just heavy, prolonged rain. But this should only be after using the tent for a few dozen nights, after being exposed to the elements for a while. At this point you could just buy a spray-on product to boost the water repelency of the tent, and only be out a few bucks, rather than the $100's of dollars you would have spent on a tent with a better 5000mm rating.
As for the poles, I think that the poles on the BA Seedhouse 2 would be 99% as good as DAC featherlites. The differences between the kinds of poles would be minimal, and would probably include a minor weight reduction, and a slight increase in strength (resistance to bending). I really don't see it being that big of a difference...and the difference in weight could be offset by buying lighter stakes, or lighter guy-lines.
tplife has a good point with the all-mesh tent bodies, though. And this would be a MAJOR selling point for me, because not only does sand/dust collect, but also, the mesh is NOT as strong as a piece of continuous fabric. The tension created in the body of a modern tent when set up is pretty great, as tension is required to keep walls taut and rain-shedding. In stronger winds, tensioned mesh will degrade faster than continuous fabric around the areas where it is attached to the pole structure. Once these little areas of wear develop, they will spread FAST during later high winds, as the mesh will also unravel easier than continuous fabric.
Just a few points to consider.
