Thanks ahead of time for any advice.

I am looking for a GPS application for my Blackberry Curve to use along with a Freedom GPS Keychain gadget. I am hoping that this will be a cheaper alternative to purchasing a GPS device.

What I am going to need it for:

Driving directions to campsites/trailheads

Hiking, Geocaching, logging GPS positions for pictures

Topo readings

Setting waypoints on trails

note: I have tried to load GoogleMaps on my BB. Having trouble getting the app to load. Kinda want to stay away from it, unless anyone has managed to get it to load. Advice on that would be great.
