i'm looking at the Rab Latok.  most UK-based manufacturers, heck most non-USA companies, run slender.  i wear a 46 suit jacket, which is what Rab says is size XL.  would i be better off with XXL?

thx

RAB in my experience like most other uk companies make products much slimmer and more 'athletic' of a fit than us companies typically. So depending on what your buying exactly, i would consider sizing up for sure. Some things its ok to have an slim and athletic fit, but I prefer a more relaxed fit typically so tend not to buy from companies that make everything in an athletic cut.

I would make sure you can return said item before purchasing in case it doesnt fit well.

..Or to put it another way.......

I just purchased a Rab Boreas. I read the sizing chart provided by Rab

http://us.rab.uk.com/help-advice/size-guide.html

..and in my case it proved pretty accurate. Whether this translates to shell I don't know, but would assume this to be accurate for all, it's not in a manufacturers interest to mislead on sizing.

very helpful advice, thanks.  i'm not very familiar with this brand; people consistently seem to like this jacket.  any thoughts about the jacket or the brand?

Rab makes high quality gear, I've got a bit of their stuff. My favourite bag is a Rab bag, as is one of my fave down jackets.

the Latok ia made as slim fit jacket. someother rab gear is not slim fit. I think you should go with a XL if you want it 'tight' or for climbing, but maybe you will find the XXL better for allround use.
