It's that time of the year again. The snow is blowing sideways, and a deep desire for new gear and equipment is building within me!
I've had my eye on the Snow Peak Titanium Cafe Press for too long not to get one, but I haven't been able to justify actually buying it for myself.
Ever since I saw the SOTO Muka stove at OR, I've nursed a powerful longing to own one.
What gear and equipment are you hoping for this Holiday season?

I'd settle for just some new colorful bandana's. All new gears and chain for my touring Trek Mountain Bike. I would also like to get a nice cabin in the wilds somewhere (like southwestern Utah) so I can get started on having a place to call home, after 35 years on the road and trail!

All I want for Christmas are some good friends to go on trips with that don't cancel, drink too much, or otherwise flake-out. Many have gotten old and lazy and are hard to get motivated. Most of my gear is old and still serviceable.
7:10 p.m. on November 30, 2012 (EST)
I'm old and still serviceable, but my gear is getting very tired. Fortunately, my friends are still gung-ho, so it's time to break my rules and buy something.
I've gone for many years without buying new stuff (just got my boots resoled again!) , but I might have to break down and buy a backpacking/skiing/moutaineering jacket. So my Christmas gear wish is for a waterproof breathable mountain parka that really is both! Seems like such a simple request, but all these years have gone by, technology come & gone, and no one can do it yet. Maybe Santa Claus is the guy who can do it?
Wishing on a star...

A Patagonia Nano Storm, Patagonia Merino 2 tops, a backpacking tripod, a Big Agnes Cyclone chair kit, and gas cards (to drive to the trailheads) are on my wish list!

Oh, and I need a new compression stuff sack for my sleeping bag! Something I plan to get when I am working again. May have to get a day labor job to get my Holiday wants.

I have very few needs but a large list of wants.
4:23 p.m. on December 3, 2012 (EST)
I got what I wanted. a new stove (windpro 2) and a new jacket (columbia bugaboo). can't think of anything else right now. I guess they're not really wants, my old stove took a dump, and my old jacket was old and a little small...so I guess I could say I got what I needed. santa provides.

More free time. The rest I can take care of with what I've got.
Seriously, I don't need any more stuff. I would love more time.

Gave the wife some gentle hints about a new neoshell jacket. And by gentle hints I mean I went with her to the store when she bought it.

I'm blessed that I'm able to get what I need when I need it - which makes it hard for my wife to buy me Christmas presents! I usually ask for "time away." I tend to get two weeks banked at Christmas. :-)

Seth, since asked, are you going to treat us all? What a Santa!
I could use touring ski boots more suitable than the boots I currently use. I have a pair of leather Scarpa telemark boots I use for ski camping. Plenty good for the skiing, but not so good for walking extended approaches to the snow line. I made the terrible mistake of giving away my Asolo extreme touring boots, when I first obtained the Scarps. What a mistake that was. Those Asolo boots, by the way, were the most comfortable footwear I have ever worn, except maybe a pair of bedroom slippers.

whome - if I had the time and the cash, I'd send everyone some of my ultimate gingerbread. It's got lumps of fresh ginger, enough nutmeg to numb the tongue and a healthy dose of bourbon!

+1 on the asolo's. had mine for twelve years before the soles finally wore out. I now have lowa's, a lighter boot, but I may get some more asolo's before next season. It all depends on how the lowa's hold up. I've read some bad reviews on them- so we'll see. I could go for some gingerbread!

I don't want much...
I could use:
- a new tent
- a new pack
- a new pair of boots
- a new sleeping bag
- a new hardshell
- hardshell pants to go with the above
- my own personal sherpa
- a new stove
- a new filter
- socks
- base layer top(and bottoms)
- new trekking poles
- new rain gear
- a yak(or 12)
- a new sleep pad
- a raise
- Santa to cover my next 4 mortgage payents(6 would be even better)
- more new tents
- more new packs
- a lobotomy
I think that about covers the things at the top of my list at the moment...
Oh and I want to go climb Everest with Annaziri and drink some Ultimate Gingerbread with Seth.
Btw, Annaziri welcome to Trailspace.
Happy hiking.

Get on your knees with Janice, and start praying bro!
Oh lord won’t you buy me a Mystery Ranch pack
My beat up old ruck sack is killing my back
Need something more suited to haul my gear rack
So oh lord won’t you buy me a Mystery Ranch pack
Oh lord won’t you buy me some telemark skis
The Wasatch powder is calling out to me
I'm weary of post holing ‘til my toes start to freeze
So oh lord won’t you buy me some telemark skis
Oh lord won’t you buy me a flight out of town
The city is maddening, I need to calm down
Any place will suit me, so long as no one is around
Oh lord won’t you buy me a flight out of town

Actually the Asolo ski boots I mentioned were cushy even by Asolo standards; they actually felt like slippers!

LMAO ED!! Great little didy
As for the Wish List.....
I guess time off to go hiking would be the biggest thing. We did about 2.5X more business last year then the last few years so hiking took a back seat. Good thing though is money is not quite such a issue. :)
Just can't decide on a hammock or a one person tent.... So many choices.

I won't actually get the Kletterwerks pack but I do think I'll get a Bacho Laplander folding saw which I've wanted for some time. Like most, I need little, want a lot, but mostly would love some to get out and get dirty.
