Need some pro advice Going to China

I've got a buddy whose backpacking in China for the entire summer, living off the land and whatnot. He needs some quick, good advice on the most reliable backpack he can get and he's kind of in a time crunch. Thank you!

Any decent name brand pack will do. Tell him to head for the nearest REI and try them all on. I'd stay away from anything really big and heavy-he probably won't need it. 60-70L is probably about right. On the other hand, he could probably just take a duffle bag and buy a pack when he gets there for next to nothing.
