Clothing for tall ladies
No - not for me - for my wife - she's got a 6' "wingspan" so most womens clothing has sleeves a wee bit short for true outdoors use - anyone know of a company that makes high quality gear in "girlie" colors (her words, not mine) for those long of arm?
Cheers

Hi Fred,
I have found some nice girlie colors at Mountain Equipment Co-op and yes, long arms! I am tall and also long armed. I just got a long sleeved Polartec shirt and a fleece jacket at MEC. The shirt was a dark pink and the jacket a lovely shade of purple! I find also that the men's wear there is also getting a lot more colorful!

Maybe the Big and Tall shops would carry something for women. I am 6'7" tall and have a long sleeve length of 39 inches. I have shopped at Big and Tall shops with fair luck.

Re: Clothing for tall ladies
Hi Ya Fred,
I was just unpacking my cold weather stuff and came across my wrist warmers and ankle warmers. I found that most girl stuff was short in the arms for me or short in the legs(long underwear especially) so I had my mom knit me (I did not inherit the knitting gene) the above nice warm accessories. The wrist ones go about mid forearm to where the thumb begins and the leg ones from the ankle to about mid calf. This helped me to wear the girls stuff yet stay warm! I have some pretty funky colours and it is fun as well as functionable. Just thought since I remembered this I would pass it along for your wonderfully tall wife!

Re: Clothing for tall ladies
Thanks Wilderness Gal - I recall wearing arm warmers (just sleeves with no shirt attached) and leg warmers (same concept, lower limbs) during my cycling days - perhaps something similar would work for her!
As for the "big and tall" shop - good idea - and while she's never been a violent gal - it just doesn't seem worth the risk to make the suggestion!
Cheers
Fred
