ALPS Meramac 6 tent...Any Good?
I just got an ALPS Meramac 6 ZF (Outfitter) tent as a gift. Is the this tent any good? It seems pretty sturdy but I haven't been out in it yet. If it isn't very good, I have the chance to take it back and get a different tent.
Thanks

ALPS makes good tents.
I personally never owned the Meramac model. But judging from the models I owned I couldn't be more satisfied. Mine never leaked. Held up to storms and hard winds too short of a hurricane. LOL
Hope it helps.

Probably be great. Our Scout troop bought some Meramac 3s (the cheap ones), and they have held up to 4 years of scout abuse shockingly well.

Thanls for the replies. I'm new to trailspace and appreciate all the great info here. I'll make sure to post once I get the tent set up and check it out. I'm just getting back into camping after some 20 years. I used to camp a lot and was a Scout leader for several years. Alas, my days of lightweight or survival camping are behind me now. All the equipment has improved so much over the years while my personal equipment (ie body) has done the opposite. My back just doesn't take well to sleeping on the ground anymore. Oh well, I'm looking forward to getting out as often as possible ... and making use of all the great info here.
Thaanks again.
