Going up a in size is sometimes a good thing. It will help compensate for the swelling that will occur when you are on your feet for hours at a time. Also better to go up in size when you are wearing liners with your hiking socks. This will take up more boot interior and the extra space will be a good thing. Your feet will thank you. Definitely contact a supplier if ya have any detailed questions. A boot that fits you in an 8.5 may not fit me in an 8.5 even if we wear the same size. I may have a wider volume foot, etc. I would strongly suggest looking towards a boot you can try on. Ordering a boot online that ya never tried on can be a flip of the coin. Even if they fit ya length wise they may not fit ya width wise. Here is a link to contact Lowa.
