What mountains are those on the image on top of the web page?

Gary I would say that header is a photoshop creation but I could be wrong.

Well, the peak to the right looks mirrored but the ones to the left look normal

Re: Trailspace image on web page

Good question, Gary. When we licensed the photo years ago I asked the photographer (Gary Irving) if he could ID the location for me, but he never did. I suspect somewhere in Nevada or California (Death Valley maybe), but I really don't know.

Here's the full image. Anybody recognize the location?

(As you noted, the image is mirrored in the current layout, so there's always something in that space no matter how wide your screen. The effect is a little more obvious than I'd like on the right, although the left side is pretty well hidden behind the logo.)

The white area at the bottom, is that ice or like maybe Death Valley or the Bonneville Salt Flats or like somewhere in Antarctica perhaps, its an interesting puzzle.

Yes, its the Bonneville Salt Flats, I found a image on yahoo Images of one of the mountains in the logo that is the same.

Its the mountain double peak in the center below, its the same as the one above the word Forums on the top of this page.

Good work Gary. Looks like a truck with maybe a race car on it in the foreground. It is Bonneville after all.

Thanks,

I often watch old movies like Westerns and try to determine where they were shot by the mountains in the background. I especially like to see the old ones from around Sedona which is so overgrown now.
