I won't be able to do the Parunuweap as planned as my friend from Utah ca'nt get more than a weekend off.

So now am thinking of maybe going south to Tucson and hiking the Sabino Canyon to Bear Canyon trail in the Catalina Mountains.

I used to live in Tuson during the winters from 1983 to 1991. The desert there is nice in the winter months. Very hot in the summers. I tried once to live there year round but only made it to July before returning to Jackson Hole for the remainder of the summer, then ended up saying in JH thru the winter of 1991-92.

Is there anyone in the group who lives near Tucson or would like to join me for a weeks hike in the Catalina's in late September or maybe October? Have to check on the tempertures, don't want to hike when its still close to 100!

Be nice to see the desert again after nearly 20 years.
