Morning start at the Trailhead

Moose tracks

Hard going through the grasses

then back on a trail.

Off-trail bushwhacking,

across the meadows and up a few knolls...

and into the forest again.

MSR Evos all over the place.

Break time at the Pine Knoll

Back on the trail

...then across the lakes...

Noon on the ice

...and back to the TH.
-24°C, and a great day to be outside.

Very nice. Looks very refreshing. My shoes are sitting in the garage. The only use they will see is if there is a significant snowstorm, which can happen in N. Texas if the conditions are right (although not on a regular basis) or I have a 7 hr drive to the mountains in NM. Which the latter will probably happen around the 1st of the year.

Wow Peter, I would love to go do something like that.
Maybe in a few years.
I really liked the second to last photo (they're all nice though).

Nothing to it, trout. All you need is a bit of snow!
