A number of years ago, Parks Canada closed the old Miette Hot Springs facility. It is located in a narrow valley with unstable sides. The building, built of local concrete, was starting to crumble and the pumps and other equipment were beginning to fail. It was too small for the crowds and had insufficient parking.

A new, more modern facility was opened, and the original one was abandoned. However, there is a lovely trail leading there, and it makes for for a nice warmup walk at the start of a Jasper weekend.

Thanks.

Really an easy walk, TJ, but quite pleasant, very scenic, and even a bit educational.
