Recent Trip: December 15th Ice Storm

Thought I wouold share our most recent adventure.

A winter storm warning was issued on December 15th calling for heavy snow in the Blue Ridge and ice/wintery mix in the lower elevations.

We have a bunch of new gear and wanted to put it and oursleves to the test.

The end result was that we camped just below the freeze line but had snow and ice in the early part of the evening. We could hear the ice shedding off the tent until about 1:00AM then it turned to rain at our elevation. We woke to a beautiful scene which is shown in the slide show below.

Looks like one of those trips you'll never forget.
