Just got back from the Grand Canyon - Escalante route.. awesome! Took 100's of pics, so it is hard to choose what to post here, but here are a few. And YES, we did drive through a snowstorm on the way to the desert!
~33 miles and about 9000 vertical feet in total. We actually drove through a snowstorm to get to Lipan Point, hiked down the Tanner trail, along the Escalante trail, up to Horseshoe Mesa, and out through Grandview trail. The views were awesome, but I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.
I have the full trip report as well as photos posted at the link below if you are interested in more. This trip is highly recommended for the experienced backpacker. Bring lots of water and be prepared treat loads more ;-)

The Escalante is a great trek. After reading your trip report I'm itching to go. Nice pics.
