Trangia Mini Trangia

rated 4 of 5 stars I use a Liberty Mountain pot stand and a small wind screen from Amazon that is 5'' high. The reason for my type of potstand is that I can adjust the simmer ring a whole lot easier. I t is just a GREAT cook set. Sometimes, for fun, I will use mt Svea 123R stove, wichworks well also, but is heavy and uses white gas(coleman fuel), but I always go back to the Trangia . Great stove ... seems that I wrote mjy review in the summary. Nothing alse to add. Full review

Vargo Triad

rated 5 of 5 stars Once mastered it is a truly amazing device. Learning curve ahead if you have no experience with ethanol powered stoves. They are not for everyone! Amazing stove design in that for about 1 ounce of weight and the size of a silver dollar, you can boil water quickly to make a meal or for other uses on a very small amount of fuel. This is the most efficient stove I have ever tested. CAUTION: Alcohol stoves require a degree of attention, focus, and learning curve that are unique to the fuel.  Mastery… Full review

Trangia Mini Trangia

rated 2.5 of 5 stars Lightweight and compact, fuel is cheap, but stove is illegal to use. I was new to ultralight backpacking, so I bought this as my very first camping stove. It was lightweight, minimalist, and the fuel was super cheap. I used it for six or so camping and backpacking trips. My biggest complaints then were fuel inefficiency and fire hazard. (I had to remember to bring foil or something else to make a windscreen with or the flame was out of control when windy.) Then, I learned it was illegal in many… Full review

Evernew Ti DX Set With Stove

rated 4 of 5 stars This is a lightweight stove. The burner comes to bloom quickly and it burns hotter than a Trangia stove. For boiling water, the burner is probably one of the best alcohol burners available. The stove is relatively light, very packable, and sets up easy. There is what appears to be fiberglass on the inside of the titanium burner (you can see it through the seep holes) that allows the burner to come to bloom quickly. The design of it is kind of neat. It has two sets of jetting holes, at the top ring… Full review

Turm Sport Stove

rated 5 of 5 stars I bought this stove used from a friend in 1971. He bought a brass Svea gas stove. I would usually have finished my meal (usually just a matter of boiling water) before he got the Svea lit. It seems to take no time to boil a half liter of water. I have used this long discontinued little stove on many backpacking, hiking, and hunting trips, as well as just boiling water for coffee at my picnic table at home over the years without any difficulties. I took these pictures today and I think the generator… Full review

Trangia 25-8 UL/HA

rated 4 of 5 stars Lightweight, packable enough to take even when you won't use it. I am a volunteer for an international boys group ages 11-18. I mention that because while I am doing this review based on my PERSONAL experience, I want you to understand the context of that experience. I camp a bunch. I camp with youth. While that means that I try to help each boy to become more self-reliant, it also means that I am ultimately responsible to ensure dry, warm, fed youths. Over the years that I have been doing this… Full review

Trangia Mini Trangia

rated 3 of 5 stars Great size for solo hiker and is nice and light but it doesn't cope very well even with a moderate breeze, which means crazy fuel high consumption. A windscreen is essential for this stove else you will have burned all your fuel and still have to eat a cold dinner!! Full review

Esbit Alcohol Stove & Trekking Cookset CS985HA

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Packs small and is lightweight. This stove is perfect for one person on a backpacking trek. I use it regularly. I prefer the fuel tablets as they don't go bad, are reliable, and the only thing you need to carry out is the wrapper. Great product. I love Esbit products. This stove is no different. I like how it nests inside itself very easily. I don't have to try it one way and then try it a different way to get it to fit. It's quick and simple. For backpacking, I prefer to use the fuel tabs as they… Full review

Trangia Mini Trangia

rated 5 of 5 stars It's perfect for boiling noodles on short solo trips. Core stove design has been available since 1958: it's well-proven. Limited pot capacity rules out serious two-person cooking. High fuel consumption rules out longer trips. Is wonderfully lightweight, entirely reliable, and unbreakable with zero maintenance. The various forms of alcohol are widely available. Wind raises fuel consumption dramatically. Not usable inside a tent and/or severe cold. Full review
