User Review: Alpina Mount
Rating: ![]()
Materials: Leather
Use: Heavy pack or light mountaineering
Break-in Period: Several long before they were comfortable
Weight: 4 lbs or so
Price Paid: On sale for $115
These boots have been very sturdy and comfortable. They are pretty stiff and have thick leather so they take a while to break in. They felt good on short hikes right away, but it took a few backpacking trips (5+ days) before they were really nice.
They have been very waterproof, but I use sno-seal on them anyway. Especially for the price ($165) they are a great boot. Very, very sturdy, good vibram sole, waterproof, crampon compatible. They have the build quality and ruggedness of boots costing 60 and 70 dollars more.
