User Review: ALPS Mountaineering Glacier 2

Rating: rated 3 of 5 stars
Design: 3 - 4 season freestanding dome
Sleeps: 2
Ease of Setup: Easy
Weight: ~6.75 lb, with stakes
Price Paid: $130

The tent worked well for our needs in a high wind, high altitude environment.

Our problem was with the fly. The plastic window in the fly fractured and fell apart during the first use of the tent. It seemed to be very brittle, and may have become that way while being carried into a backpacking destination.

The venting worked well, and the tent held up well in high wind. The weight of the tent for this kind of design (4-season) is great.

We returned the fly to Alps for another, but the replacement had manufacturing errors, and we were unable to use it. We returned the tent to the original dealer.

They have some good designs, but their quality control may need improvement.
