Therm-a-Rest MondoKing 3D

Best pad for car camping I'm not a young chickadee anymore. I bought this pad and I spend a lot of time camping with my son's Boy Scout Troop. My regular Therm-a-Rest from 1998 wasn't exactly doing the job.  This bad boy is big and bulky but feels like your mattress at home. I don't even need a cot. I live in Upstate New York and as added plus this pad is extremely warm and insulating.  Full review

Therm-a-Rest NeoAir XTherm

Best pad ever, if it were a little wider. If you sleep on your side your butt and knees are off of the pad. Full review

As a lifelong user and fan, I will no longer buy any of the Therm-a-Rest products or those of its parent Cascade Designs. As a lifelong user and fan, I will no longer buy any of the Therm-a-rest products or those of its parent Cascade Designs. Why? They used to stand behind their goods and when one of their top-end pads ($130 in 2018) needed a replacement filler, they simply said we no longer carry that. Well, when you sell many thousands of a product, you would expect some better consideration… Full review

Therm-a-Rest Trail Lite

A great company with a lifetime warranty on their camping mats, and mats that will give you a comfortable night's sleep. Therm-a-Rest are brilliant camping mats for a good night's sleep and I can't rate the company highly enough. The mats have a lifetime warranty and there's also a brilliant repair service for punctures and valves so you will only need to buy one in your lifetime. I bought my Therm-a-Rest mattress 20 years ago and have used it for hiking trips and car camping trips a few times per… Full review

Swiss Gear Self Inflating Mat

Worthless. Weld separated on second use. Trying to make a claim under the warranty was impossible. Do not buy, rent, or borrow! Full review

Therm-a-Rest ProLite

A spartan self-inflating pad, lacking the warmth and comfort of most other inflatable pads. Good for those who need the lightest possible and the most compact pad while keeping it relatively durable and affordable. Otherwise, there are better options in various pad departments. In comparison to 15-mm foam pad, 50 cm width (20") In the daily usage I prefer 15-mm thick foam pads (20" / 50 cm width), like Therm-a-rest Ridgerest, or cheap equivalents with similar thickness. These pads are lightweight,… Full review

Vango Comfort 7.5 Single

This self-inflating mat replaces a worn out Therm-a-Rest and so far it is doing the job well. This product is cheap enough and is very comfortable. It is used about 20 times throughout the last two years. Summer, winter, it doesn't matter. This self-inflating mat is large. If you are after small and compact this is not for you. I had been using Therm-a-Rests over approximately 30 years and I finally needed something thicker and more comfortable and cheaper so I bought the Vango Comfort 7.5. This… Full review

Therm-a-Rest MondoKing 3D

Great comfy product. Lots of space, feels like home. A bit heavy for backpacking, but then that’s not what it’s for. I have the Mondoking 3D xxl size—it’s wide and comfortable. It’s like having my bed from home in my tent. Easy to set up and take down. And what a sleep! Keeps the ground cold away too! Full review

REI Camp Bed Self-Inflating Sleeping Pad

Generously thick and comfy for a foam/air sleeping pad, great for car camping or luxurious motorcycle camping if you have space to spare, too big and heavy for much else. But if it's a short hike, the extra weight might just be worth the supreme camping comfort it provides. Though its 2.5" of thickness weighs in at about 5 lbs. hefty, the REI Camp Bed is the most comfortable of the foam self inflatables I've ever owned by far. It's also the thickest and heaviest of this kind I've owned by a good… Full review
