User Review: ALPS Mountaineering Taurus 1.0

Rating: rated 3 of 5 stars
Design: three-season freestanding dome
Sleeps: 1
Ease of Setup: fairly easy
Weight: 3lbs 15ozs
Price Paid: $60 (gear tester price)

I finally tested this tent in some cold Wisconsin weather and I would say the Taurus 1.0 is better suited for warmer months of the year seeing the whole tent body is constructed of mesh. Not very thermo efficent but I suppose this tent was not designed for cold Wisconsin winters either.

Some of the things I like about the Taurus 1.0 is the light packed weight and quick pitch. It features one door and a full coverage rainfly. Quality seems to be above average. Nicely finshed seams. I would like to continue testing this tent on more of my backpacking trips during the warmer months so expect another review in the near future...
