Arc'teryx Maverick SV Jacket
Braved the mid of Canadian winter with this one and a good base layer with a mid layer jersey.
Another great thing is it has the same zipper size as the older North Face hardshells (fleece zips into the hardshell). I tried to buy a replacement fleece for my old North Face hardshell and North Face changed the zipper size and all the new North Face fleeces will not zip into the older hardshells.
But this little number from Arc'Teryx fit like a glove.
With the Maverick as the insulation layer under the North Face hardshell I think I can brave some pretty ugly weather.
Fabric: Polartec WindPro
Price Paid: $225
I originally bought the fleece as an insulating layer for my shell, but I've found it to be so warm and wind resistant that I often ditch the shell.
Price Paid: $150 USD
extremely warm and water resistance... can wear short sleeves with it at around 3C. worth to buy.

The Arc'Teryx Men's Maverick SV Jacket is a unique piece with a weather-blocking facade and fleecey interior. Constructed from Wind Pro, the Maverick battles the elements and resists pilling to the extent that it can be used on its own as winter workwear, especially if your job is at a ski resort. When used as an insulator, the Maverick relies on lofty reverse-shag fleece to retain body heat. This versatile jacket achieves its trim fit with the help of Arc'Teryx's innovative construction technology. Instead of sewing, this Canadian company laminates items such as pockets and zippers onto to the body of their garments to eliminate bulky seams and stitching. This creates pieces that are functional and durable. The inclusion of gusseted-underarm sleeves provides maximum mobility while reinforced shoulders and elbows expand the lifespan of this great jacket. *Available for US shipment only.

Durably designed for layering beneath climbing, mountaineering and skiing shells, the Arc'teryx Maverick SV Jacket features a highly wind resistant and warm Polartec Wind Pro reverse shag fabric that delivers outstanding thermal and moisture-wicking performance in cold and blustery conditions. Hikers and climbers often associate extra layers with constraining marshmallow-man stuffing, but the Arc'teryx Maverick SV Jacket uses a slimmed-down gusseted underarm sleeve construction to enhance your range of motion. Beneath the front zipper is a wind flap to minimize breeze penetration on blustery days. This is a superb fleece piece for insulating technical mountaineering shells, especially if mobility matters most.
