Asolo AFX 535 V

rated 5.0 of 5 stars

The AFX 535 V has been discontinued. If you're looking for something new, check out the best backpacking boots for 2024.

The Asolo AFX 535 V has been by far the best boot I’ve ever owned. With minimal break in time and waterproofed leather, I highly recommend the AFX 535 V for its comfort and its durability. Asolo boots are the best in the world. I gave my Vasques away to my friend who backpacks the A.T. every spring. He told me they lasted only 25 miles before the seams started splitting.

My feet have never been happier. First use was at Tuckerman's Ravine w/30 lb pack--no blisters, hotspots, or discomfort of any kind. I've had problems in the past w/inner ankle bones getting irritated/inflamed, but the cushy uppers on these boots were great. Traction coming down snowy/icy trail was good. Best backpacking boots I've ever worn!
