User Review: Asolo Cerro Torre GTX
|
Rating: ![]()
Materials: suede and fabric with Gore-tex
Use: extended backpacking with some rough trail
Break-in Period: a few days
Weight: relatively lightweight
Price Paid: $135
The other reviewer has been using these boots as work boots, which I think may not be the best use for them. As a backpacking boot they perform quite well for medium loads on week-long trips. They offer good support and a somewhat stiff sole for good protection against rough, sharp, off-trail granite hopping.
I am concerned, as was the other reviewer, about how quickly the soles are wearing down. Perhaps in Asolo's attempt to lighten weight they sacraficed some durability. Since I don't wear them as an everyday boot, they have lasted a couple of years now, but I don't know if I'll get as many years as I would hope out of them.
